ESA BIC Czech Republic at FAB25: When Rockets Meet 3D Printers
ESA BIC Czech Republic took part in this year’s FAB25, the biggest event for digital fabrication and maker projects in Central Europe. The event, held in Prague, gathered the global FabLab network, makers, researchers, and innovators from around the world to explore topics like 3D printing, robotics, and other digital fabrication tools.
On July 9, ESA BIC Czech Republic hosted a theoretical workshop titled “How to launch your space startup? When rockets meet 3D printers” as a part of this event. Our Incubation Manager, Adéla Boráňová, together with Jiří Zachardala from incubated startup UDX, gave a joint talk focused on how additive manufacturing is shaping new technologies both in space and on Earth. The session introduced the ESA BIC Czech Republic program, its funding options, and incubation process, along with examples of 3D printing for space applications and even 3D printing in space. Jiří Zachardala then presented UDX’s journey and their experience and challenges connected to 3D printing in their work on the Airwolf hoverbike.
