Czech Ambitious Missions to be launched with support from ESA BIC Czech Republic Alumni Startups
Last week, the Czech Republic selected two ambitious projects to receive support from the European Space Agency. A committee of representatives from ESA and the Ministry of Transport selected from seven projects. Michal Kuneš, Programme Manager of ESA BIC Czech Republic, was also part of the committee.
In the field of research, QUVIK will be supported, which aims to develop a satellite that will carry a space telescope capable of observing the universe in the ultraviolet part of the light spectrum. The second project selected for public purposes is AMBIC. It aims to develop a satellite platform that will be used to image the Earth.
Both projects are led by the Czech Aerospace Research Center in collaboration with a number of other organisations. We are pleased that World from Space and Needronix – the ESA BIC Czech Republic alumni startups – are also part of the consortia.
World from Space will provide user communication and satellite data processing in the AMBIC project. Needronix will develop Sun sensors for both projects, which will enable satellite orientation. In the future, another graduate of our incubation, Spacemanic, will be involved in both projects. Congratulations to all on their success!
